Playlists, likes, and history
Personal library data and the small set of things worth backing up.
Creating playlists
Open a song or album menu and choose Add to playlist, or create an empty playlist from the library. A playlist can contain up to 5,000 unique tracks; an account can own up to 1,000 playlists. Removing a track from a playlist does not remove the source file or library entry.
Liked songs
Select the heart on a song to add it to Liked songs. Likes are private to the current account and sync between clients because they live on the host.
Listening history
Parson records qualified playback locally to power recent listening and recommendations. Raw history is bounded to roughly 20,000 recent records per user; compact lifetime aggregates retain preference signals without letting the event table grow forever.
Export and backup
There is no separate playlist, likes, or history export. These records live in parson-music.db, so back up the Parson data directory to preserve them together. Restoring only the music files does not restore accounts, playlists, likes, or history.
See Backup and restore for the exact folders and a move-to-new-computer checklist.
